KEEPING OUR COMMUNITIES HEALTHY

As we live out our mission to improve our communities through our products, actions and support, we have consistently supported many organizations that impact the health and well-being of those communities.

One of the core organizations we’ve supported for years is the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. This organization supplies much-needed food assistance programs to nearly two-thirds of the state. Other organizations we support that focus on health and wellness initiatives include the American Heart Association, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Infant Crisis Services, YWCA and the United Way. Each of these organizations address much-needed support for our community in their area of expertise.

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon (OKCMM) and the Redbud Classic are large community events we support that focus on promoting active and healthy lifestyles. For many years we’ve volunteered to staff a water stop, located near the end of both the half and the full marathon, at the OKCMM. It’s very fulfilling to be there to enthusiastically encourage the runners as they test the demands of their own personal endurance.

There may be no more meaningful action than volunteering to roll up your sleeve and donate blood. Dolese employees have been faithful blood donors at our corporate blood drives and blood centers for decades. We currently hold three drives a year where nearly 100 units of lifesaving blood are donated.

Even our materials are critical in impacting health and wellness. We’re working with engineers to donate material from our Richards Spur quarry to build a special surface of a playground designed for individuals living with disabilities. All the equipment is designed to remove barriers of access for these individuals. Recently we’ve partnered with the Oklahoma City Zoo to provide materials such as wooden spools, large and small pipes and metal stock tanks. These items help provide enrichment for the animals and resources for the zoo.

We invite all Dolese employees to get involved with our communities. Look for our call for volunteer announcements in Company News.
